Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a compound of growth factors that is obtained from the patient’s own blood. After the blood is collected, it is placed in a centrifuge machine that can separate the platelet-rich plasma from the rest of the blood. It is through this separation that the plasma with platelet growth factors can be obtained, which can then be used to treat damaged tissue.
When is it used?
Platelet-rich plasma (PRPs) is used in the treatment and regeneration of diseased tissues (both muscles and tendons and ligaments). The growth factors present in it influence the biological process of tissue healing.
Is the procedure difficult?
This procedure is performed on an outpatient basis, during the consultation, and there are no significant drug interactions or allergic reactions for the patient.
